A couple years ago, my father began writing down stories about his life to share with my family. I’ve been reading his stories to my son at bedtime - and afterward, he always asks me to tell him about “the way back times” when I was a kid.

Well, “the way back times” don’t feel that far back to me, but my son’s curiosity reminds me that we all have a desire to know more about our family history: where we came from - who came before us - we want to know their stories!

Watching my kids approach every new experience with awe and wonder challenges me daily to look for surprises, to find joy in the mundane, and beauty in my quiet, normal life. I’m thankful my kids are part of my story and I can’t wait to hear the stories they have to pass on down the line.

Woven together from the best of you and me
